Woman: You can't say Americans are not more violent than other people.
Fred: No.
Woman: All those people killed in shootings in America?
Fred: Oh, shootings, yes. But that doesn't mean Americans are more violent than other people. We're just better shots.

Ok, by now you've figured I'm into computers. But I'm definitely different from the average computer person stereotype, because:
  • I shower daily
  • I'm not overweight
  • I'm not a social malaprop (at least I don't think so)

So you could almost say I'm relatively normal. But I'm not your proverbial "Average Joe" either. I don't watch football, and I always choose wine over beer (actually I don't even drink beer). I see very few Hollywood productions, favoring foreign and independent flicks instead. I'm not all out against the U.S.; I realize the many opportunities and quality lifestyle the U.S. has to offer. I guess I'm just not as enthusiastic about certain aspects of the culture (watch a tabloid talk show for examples).

Nevertheless, I still have many characteristics of the typical male between age 20 and 30. I like cars, stereo equipment, and technological gadgetry. I drive an Audi A4 Quattro, which I like to waste money on. I just got this new Yamaha home stereo receiver that I like too. I care more about clean sound than decibel potential, and this one does great. I even invest in the stock market (legalized gambling, in my opinion).

A lot of non-Washingtonians don't understand the DC "young people" scene. I found a good article about it in The Washington Post.
